Akuafo Cheque
The bank plays an intermediary role in the cocoa buying activities of the RCBs. Eleven (11) Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs) currently channel funds through the bank to the rural/community banks for the purchase of cocoa. This has greatly improved the delivery time and adequate supply of cash to the cocoa buying RCBs which has contributed to the smooth operations of the Akuafo Cheque System.
Apex Link Domestic Funds Transfer
Apex Link is a domestic funds transfer product which enables the transfer of funds from one community to another using the network of rural/community banks. This product has proved to be safe, reliable and convenient to traders, businessmen etc.
Efie ne fie Funds Mobilization Product
The product enables customers in the urban areas to open and operate a bank account to transfer money from the urban to the rural communities for the purpose of undertaking development projects in their villages and towns.
Inward Foreign Remittances
The bank also in collaboration with some commercial banks to channel foreign remittances through some Rural/Community Banks to Beneficiary. Some of the collaborating banks and other registered money transfer companies are the Metropolitan and Allied Bank (MAB) and Merchant Bank Ghana Ltd. Special Product for Persons with Disability
The ARB Apex Bank in collaboration with the rural/community banks has provided special facilities at various rural/community banks offices in the regions to make the RCBs user-friendly for PWDs. The facilities include a ramp to provide easy access for the physically-challenged into the banks for prompt and effective service delivery. The term PWD covers the physically-challenged, the blind and the deaf and dumb.
Apex Certificate of Deposit
A treasury product which allows the rural/community banks to invest on short-term to earn interest. ACOD is an investment product designed to meet the short-term investment need of the Rural/Community Banks. Rural/Community Banks which have short-term excess liquidity can invest in ACOD which has the following maturity period:
7 DAYS
15 DAYS
30 DAYS
60 DAYS
The product has the flexibility of premature redemption if the rural/community bank requires liquidity to meet cash shortfalls. Weekly interest rates are sent to the RCBs through the Bank's branches and clearing centers. These rates are very competitive.
Government Securities
The Bank is certified by the Bank of Ghana as a primary dealer in Government Securities and, therefore trades in government treasury bills and bonds on behalf of rural/community banks and their customers.
Correspondent Banking Services Collaboration with Other Financial Institutions
The Bank also collaborates with other commercial banks to provide quality banking services to their clients, on their behalf, at the various rural and community bank outlets where these commercial banks are not represented. These correspondent services are in the form of cheque clearing agency service, cash payments and collection from their corporate clients and any advisory service delegated by these commercial banks to the Bank.
